Our principal and staff

Our school team is committed to every student’s learning, wellbeing and sense of belonging. We work together to create a supportive and inclusive school where every child is set up for success.

Welcome from our principal

At Bungwahl Public School we strive for excellence in a friendly and nurturing environment where everyone belongs. We have high expectations and believe all students can learn. Every student is valued, and their unique gifts are identified and developed within quality learning and wellbeing programs. Our school values are learning, respect, caring, belonging and creativity.

We maintain a strong focus on learning for all, celebrating effort and achievement and fostering a positive and supportive learning environment. We aim to ignite a passion for learning in our students by connecting with school learning communities and external experts. Through explicit teaching and high-level engagement, we ensure that every student improves each year. We link students' goals to their growth, fostering a sense of achievement and progress. Additionally, we prioritise student voice, empowering our students to take an active role in their education, the school and community.

We value parent and carer engagement with their child’s learning. Our school is supported by a proactive Parents and Citizens (P&C) association, contributing significantly to the overall success and vibrancy of our school community.

Our school is situated in a beautiful natural rainforest environment. It lies between two lakes and is minutes away from Seal Rocks. Students have deep connections with their local environment, many living on rural properties and close to national parks and beaches. Environmental education is taught through practical projects with our local council and National Parks and Wildlife Service. Aboriginal Education, including the rich Worimi history of our area, is taught across the school. Our highly successful kitchen garden program provides opportunities for students to learn many skills in engaging and practical ways.

Our current 36 students enjoy access to a wonderful playground and well-resourced classrooms.

At Bungwahl Public School, learning is a collaborative journey where respect, creativity, and belonging are at the heart of our community.
